Most patients who have lost teeth due to injury, advanced decay or periodontal disease are good candidates for dental implants. At Vienna Oral Surgery Specialists, our Vienna implant dentist has extensive experience in dental implant procedures and can provide you with the care and support you need. Dr. Dawood will work with you to determine if dental implants are right for you. Our dental practice uses the latest equipment and technology to ensure that you receive the best dental care possible.
Comparing Dentures vs. Implants
Dentures are a highly used method to replace missing teeth, but they have drawbacks. Dentures can be uncomfortable and slip out of place, making it difficult to eat and speak. They also require adhesive to stay in place, which can be messy.
Dental implants are a more permanent solution that can give your natural smile back. Implants are artificial metal roots placed into the jawbone to support a dental prosthetic. The implant fuses with the bone over time, providing a strong and stable foundation for your new tooth. Implants can replace one or more teeth or the entire mouth.

Benefits of Dental Implants
There are many benefits of dental implants, including:
- A natural look and feel: Dental implants are custom-created to look and feel like your natural teeth.
- Improved oral health: Dental implants do not require the surrounding teeth to be altered to support them, as is the case with dental bridges. This helps to preserve your natural dental health.
- Improved speech: Dental implants are anchored in the jawbone, so they will not slip or move around in your mouth as dentures can. This improves your ability to speak clearly.
- Improved comfort: Dental implants do not require adhesive or removal; they simply sit in the jaw as your natural tooth would. They also provide stimulation to the jawbone, which helps to keep it healthy and strong.
- Improved self-esteem: Dental implants can give you back your smile and help you feel more confident about your appearance.
Our Vienna Dental Implant Options

Single Tooth Replacement
If you have a single missing tooth, we can place an implant to support a dental crown. The dental crown will be made to match your natural teeth in color, shape, and size.

Multiple Teeth Replacement
If you are missing multiple teeth, we can place dental implants to support a dental bridge. The dental bridge will be made to match your natural teeth in color, shape, and size.

Full Mouth Replacement
If you are missing all or an entire row of your teeth, we offer a couple of options to restore the functionality and aesthetics of your smile.

All-on- 4 TM/Teeth in a day/ Smile in a day/Fixed hybrid
This implant solution involves placing four or more dental implants in the jawbone to support an entire set of dental prosthetics. Dental prosthetics can be either dental implants or dentures. All-on-4/ Fixed hybrid is an excellent option for patients who do not want to wear removable dentures or require an extensive bone grafting procedure and lack jaw bone dimensions.
Implant-Supported OverDentures
This implant solution involves placing dental implants in the jawbone to support a set of dentures. The dental implants provide a stable foundation for the dentures, so they will not slip or move around in your mouth.

What to Expect During Implant Oral Surgery
Dental implant surgery is a relatively straightforward procedure. Our dental office uses a 3D printed surgical guide so that your surgeon achieves optimal clinical results with minimally invasive incisions at the implant site. Ensuring that the implant is correctly positioned within adjacent tissues and structures is vital. In addition, correctly aligning an implant with surrounding tissues and structures helps to ensure dental implant success.
Dental implant surgery can be performed with either general anesthesia. If you choose to have local anestheisa only ( Numbing the jaw) ,you will be awake during the procedure, but you will not feel any pain. Since Dr. Dawood is certified in i.v. sedation and genreal anesthesia, he does offer other anesthetic levels to ensure you are most comfortable during dental implant surgery.
First, you are sedated if you choose i.v. sedation/general anesthesia. Thereafter, a local anesthetic is administered. Then the jawbone is prepared for the placement of the implants by creating a small incision in the gum tissue and creating a slot in the bone. The implants will be placed in the jawbone and allowed to fuse with the bone over time. This process, known as osseointegration, can take several months.
Once the dental implants have appropriately fused with the bone, your dentist or prosthodontist will attach the dental prosthetics to the implants. Dental prosthetics can be either dental crowns, bridges, or dentures.
After your dental implant surgery, you will be given specific instructions on caring for your implants and incisions. It is essential to follow instructions carefully to ensure the success of your dental implants.

Cost of Dental Implants
The price of an implant, abutment, and crown starts at $3,000.
The cost of your treatment may be higher if you need any additional procedures like extraction, bone grafting, or sinus lift. Your insurance may cover part of the cost.
Dr. Dawood will work with you in every way possible to avoid cost as being a barrier to receiving dental implants.
